Shrimp Ridge Gourd

This recipe is unique Andhra recipe goes well with combo of both egg and omelet ,which you can prepared by adding your own taste of flavors of your choice.

Ingredients
Oil-2 tbsp
Turmeric-1/2 tsp
Shrimp-1 cup
Ridge gourd-2
Onion-1
Green chillies-5
Ginger Garlic paste-1 tbsp
Curry leaves-1 string
Poppy seed paste-1 tbsp
Red chili powder-1 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tsp
Cumin powder-1tsp
Salt-as req
Coconut Milk-1/2 cup
Water-as req


Preparation
  • Chop onions,green chilies,ridge gourd and keep a side.
  • Make poppy paste.Blend fresh coconut with warm water and keep coconut milk a side.
  • Wash shrimp and transfer the shrimp to heated pan and saute until water completely evaporates and keep a side.
Method
  • Heat oil add onions,green chilies and saute until transparent in color,then add green chilies,curry leaves saute for some time.
  • Now add ginger garlic paste,poppy seed paste and saute until raw smell goes,then add ridge gourd,shrimp,powders mix well saute and close the lid for some time.
  • Lastly add water,coconut milk mix well and cover again.
  • Boil until water completely evaporates and until it comes to gravy consistency.
  • Serve this with chapathi,pulka and combo of rice and egg.
Note:Heat should be on medium flame.I added flavors according to my taste.
