Tamarind Rasam


My moms rasam.



Ingredients
Onion-few pieces
Green Chilli-3
Turmeric-pinch
Tomato-1small
Red Chilli Powder-1tsp
Tamarind Juice-as per ur sourness(small lemon size)
Salt-as req
Water-as req
Cilantro-as req
Sugar-pinch
Oil-2tbsp
Menthulu-pinch

Tempering
Oil-1tsp
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Cummin Seeds-1tsp
Urad Dal-1tsp
Red Chilli-2
Curry Leaves-few
Garlic-2crushed
Preparation
First chop onions,slit green chillies n keep a side.Take a bowl add water,turmeric,red chilli powder,tamarind,salt,sugar n mix well n keep a side.
Method
Heat oil in deep pot add onions,green chillies,menthulu,tomato n saute until they r transparent in color,then add tamarind water,let the water come to boil then add chopped cilantro n boil it for some more time under low flame.Mean while prepare tempering.Heat oil in a pan add crushed garlic,mustard seeds,cummin seeds,urad dal,red chilli,curry leaves n let splutter,then add these tempering to rasam n switch off the flame,Serve this yummy rasam with combo of rice,pappu,any non veg curries.
